Leaving your child with someone new is the hardest part of parenting — which is why HomeStaff babysitters and nannies are screened harder than any other category we place. Our babysitters care for babies, toddlers and school-age children with patience, routines and common-sense safety. Whether you need a daytime nanny while you work, an evening sitter twice a week, or a live-in nanny for a newborn, we introduce you to carers who have raised children of their own and passed our childcare-focused interview.

What Our Babysitters Do
A HomeStaff nanny keeps your child’s day on rails: morning dressing and breakfast, school or nursery preparation, safe play and learning activities, nap routines, afternoon meals, homework help for older kids, and a calm bedtime. Babies get feeding schedules, burping, bathing and gentle sleep training support. Live-in nannies also cover night feeds when agreed. Evening babysitters handle dinner, bedtime and light tidying while parents are out.

How We Select Staff
Every candidate is interviewed in person about their skills and experience, and their details are recorded when they apply. Your 3-day trial at home is the final step — you confirm the fit before the placement is confirmed. If the match is not right, our 6-month replacement guarantee applies.

FAQs
Can the nanny look after a newborn and an older sibling together?
Yes — mother’s-helper style placements are common. We shortlist nannies experienced with age-gap pairs and confirm the routine with you before the trial day.
Do you train the babysitter in first aid?
We screen for first-aid awareness at interview and share your paediatrician and emergency contacts at placement.
Can we have a trial session before hiring?
Yes. Every childcare placement starts with a supervised session in your home — you observe the candidate with your child before any commitment.
What hours does a live-in nanny cover?
Typically 7am–9pm with agreed night feeds for newborns. Exact hours and boarding terms are agreed in writing at hiring.
Can the same sitter come every week?
Yes. Regular weekly bookings get a dedicated sitter so your child sees the same friendly face every time.
