Pets are family — and family deserves a caretaker who actually loves animals. HomeStaff pet caretakers walk, feed, groom and keep company for dogs, cats, birds and aquariums across the twin cities. Whether it’s two daily walks for a high-energy German Shepherd, medication rounds for a diabetic cat, or feeding and cleaning while you travel, we place caretakers who treat your pet’s routine as seriously as you do.

What Our Pet Caretakers Do
A pet caretaker’s day follows your animal’s schedule: measured feeds on time, two walks with leash discipline for dogs, fresh water and litter or cage cleaning, play and exercise sessions, grooming and brushing, and medication or supplements as prescribed. For travelling families, caretakers run full feeding-walk-cleaning cycles twice daily and send photo updates on WhatsApp. They also accompany pets to the vet for vaccinations and check-ups.

How We Verify
Pet caretaker screening starts with a genuine animal-affinity interview — candidates with pets of their own are prioritised — then standard police clearance, identity verification and reference calls with previous pet-owning families. We test handling confidence with pets at our office and check knowledge of common hazards (chocolate, onion, heatstroke, parvo precautions). A first supervised visit in your home completes the placement.
